Sunday funday!

As Superintendent Cat, I have various important duties here at Cat and Kitten Rescue.

- Welfare Officer: Visiting all the cats in our care, for a bit of company and a friendly chat.

- Personal Trainer: Encouraging my resident and feral chums to join me in running around the garden at high speed.

- Official Taster: Ensuring all treats are up to standard for our guests (I have told our Helen that this one has to be done at least three times a day, because I’m meticulous like that..)

Those are but a few of my roles.

I also sometimes delegate certain tasks… like I did yesterday, when I sent a group of our lovely volunteers to hold a fundraising stall at Southampton University’s annual Arts and Craft Fayre.

Our volunteers generously give up their spare time to prepare and set up great stalls, filled with many goods donated by our helpful supporters.

Yesterday, they did us proud with a fantastic display, which attracted many visitors and buyers.

The fayre was very busy, with over 100 other stalls.. with many crafters and artists who were selling their hand-made wares.

We had a few hand-crafted items on our stall too, especially made by our talented volunteers - our unique items for sale included jewellery, knitwear, cat blankets of all colours, and catnip-filled toy mice (I tested the first of these myself, and can highly recommend).

A very pleasant day was had by all, and we raised some more funds to benefit the many cats and kittens that pass through our doors. Every little bit helps towards the costs of vet bills, medication, food, and litter, etc.

There are some more fundraising stalls planned at other venues later this week and in the run up to Christmas. These are all listed on our Events page, if you would like to pop by and grab yourself some pre-Christmas bargains.

We hope to see you there!

(Well… I won’t be there, because someone has to stay here for the official tasting duties, you know…)

Love and biscuity kisses from

Superintendent Cat
